STAYCATION ALMA

Wow, I woke up with a total case of the Mondays, but I am so excited to be writing this post.  Planning a vacation takes a lot of time and money, and sometimes you just need to get away.  Connor and I decided to do a staycation at Alma Cafe, Restaurant and Hotel right in NE Minneapolis.  Everything from the room keys to the hotel decor was amazing.  There are only seven rooms at this boutique hotel; we stayed in room #5 includes a darling attached patio.  The decor is very minimal and dreamy, and the bed was so comfortable!

We settled into the room and enjoyed some of their housemade popcorn.  After I decided on an outfit for the night (it's always a process), we headed down to the cafe for some pre-dinner drinks.  Connor loved his "Pandam Romos", and I had the "Drunk In Love" with Tequila.  We both agreed that our dinner was top notch, and we would give it five stars.  The server did a fantastic job making sure that we knew what we were getting with each course.  Connor had Yellowtail Tartare|Mung Bean Cake & Crab|Smoked Lamb Ribeye (Menu) - I enjoyed Octopus Terriene|Crispy Poached Egg|Duck Breast & XO Sausage.  It was well portioned, and I was actually a little full towards the end.  We both loved trying a bite of each others food, and it was all delicious!!

Some fun places to head after dinner are St. Anthony Main, which is walkable with lots of fantastic bars and restaurants along the river.  Kitty Kat Club on campus is always fun and isn't exactly a "college bar" (however there will be college kids there!); they have great drink pricing and bands that come through frequently!  Maxwell's a couple blocks over has a Hookah Lounge.  If you head west towards NE there are also tons of great breweries and bars! (Able, Headflyer, 612, Sociable Ciderwerks).

Of course I had to include a few fun looks along with photos from our stay!  Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
